Hey, I'm Eva. I'm not just a surfer. I'm a swimmer, a lifeguard, a lifeguard competitor. I think surfers are actually tend to be kind of lame and erm, selfish. I don't like that approach and I love sharing what I have learned in the ocean with others because it has brought me so much joy, and even more joy to share it!
I started Beach Wise(formerly known as Sunny Waves Community) out of an overflow of what I have been given- a desire to empower other people in the ocean- for whatever their goals are. From learning to surf, to having a successful and safe family beach vacation. I realize not everyone has had the opportunity to spend countless hours in the ocean, getting coaching, and playing, due to proximity or time.
I have put in over 10,000 hours in the ocean between lifeguarding, training, racing, and surfing. I have distilled everything I know to empower you for confidence in the ocean, reading conditions, and learning to surf, for your beach vacations, beach days, or surf trips.

We bring awareness to ocean safety by teaching people about ocean conditions and the ways it changes so that they can become more adventurous and safe at the beach.
